Mankind has forgotten the art of rest. 

We have lost the ability to stay with our thoughts, our feelings, with our true inner self. We are no longer our own company.

Our homes that once kept us isolated are now pierced by black windows — portals through which the outside world pours in, flooding our minds. 

We are constantly connected. 

In this urban context, a new kind of space is needed. 

One where no opening lets the outside in, where introspection is inevitable. 

In this peculiar space, all is blank. 

A canvas for our thoughts.

Kimberley Berney & Samuel Jaccard are Architecture students from The École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL)
