#140 The Generational Cloud

B13_#140 // The Cloud Parlour // Emma Colthrust

How do we make our history meaningful in an increasingly digital age? How can we connect the digital with our physical reality?
The Generational Cloud unites the digital and the personal in a cloud data centre and community pavilion. Here, young and old reconnect with their stored data using Augmented Reality, allowing them to overlay the digital onto the physical. The digital leads us back to our surroundings, leading us from the centre to the edge of the pavilion and connecting us with the encircling rural landscape. Looking out from the edge, generations pass on the combined information and meaning of the personal and the digital.
