B11_#119 // The Vestibule // Bethany Hird
A vestibule in-between the ordinary and the extra-ordinary. Bodies are stripped, manipulated and reinvented to morph the unsuspecting occupant into a being ready to be placed into the obscene world that lies ahead. A space of capture, deception and mutilation, this vestibule acts as a factory to transport participants from a world that is familiar, to a place where the norms of reality are no longer present. The space acts as a method to prepare, but also disguise the insanity of the world ahead, as through manipulating participants before their entrance to the world not only distorts them, but dictates their perception of the space to follow.
