The cube #148 hybridises the restaurant and the church to challenge the existing conventions tied to these typologies: 🏬 “The holy water in a font is used to cleanse you as you enter and leave the church, when water you drink in the restaurant cleanses the taste palate before and after food. Water is a mark for these typology-tied rituals.”[…]”Be it the waiter who brings the food or the priest, the conventional authority of occupiers is constantly challenged through the hybrid of the two typologies and the height of the podium. Will the waiter serve, stood above the guests, with the sense of authority? #cube146 uses the pop-up as a vehicle behind its #restaurantinachurch proposal: ⛪ “The Chapel” is an outdoor pop up restaurant that explores the spiritual relationship between people eating and drinking together and the space that unites them. The symbolism of the church is reconsidered in the peak of the corrugated roof and the coloured stained glass windows. The sound of the bell is far too intense for the average ear to bear. 
In this uncommon venue, sound can be seen. Vibrations emitted from above your head make the meals come to life. The soup undulates, dancing right before your eyes. You will feel sound travelling through your body, a gentle massage while you are dining. Kicking off the week with #cube144 of #thecloudparlour: ☁️ “On this sandy island stands a prominent but off-putting landmark. The first server in what used to be the Arctic circle overheated severely after the last pieces of the glacier melted away and started sending out false historic information which formed an alternative set of believes within the population.
