The naturally subjective quantification of overall work efficiency and the idea one has of the perfect work environment/setting is inherently different form one person, workload, mood, project, time to an other. As perpetual variables, the only way to answer students needs under most circumstances is for a space to be flexible. Modularity is key to providing the benefits of both individual and open spaces. The studio evolves with students and time; folding and unfolding multifunctional partitions, flaps and furniture adapting from individual workspaces to group activities, critics or exhibitions.
