B7_#069 // The Library // Agostino Nickl
Typically, libraries and study spaces are decorated with books. Playing with scale invites to reimagine existing typologies and to propose a reinterpretation of the libraries’ main character – a new architectural typology derived from its material qualities: the Book Nook. The design of the the Book Nook can cater for all the different ways of consuming books: some books want to be read laying, others leaning, and some sprawling over a desk. The different positions, from upright to horizontal, unfold like a story within the pages – creating small, human-centered reading caves in which the reader becomes the Book Nook’s main character.
