We have entered a time of voluntary brainwashing – news channels and social media are tailored to feed the subjective nature of individuals, and we, the consumers, pick and choose what type of news suits us best. There has never been a time of such social divergence, nor such profound questioning of the legitimacy of Western media.
Alas, ignorance is bliss. We are no longer concerned with the ‘real’ and the ‘fake,’ we function solely on what fits our personal perception of the world best, stepping voluntarily onto the golden conveyer belt of misconception. The oversaturation of information is our best friend, and the validity of news our least concern.
